I seriously never knew this kind of stuff was even possible in a romhack, let alone one of Super Mario World. It's crazy how far things have gone over the decades. I gave this a hack a try and I was blown away... the atmosphere is truly amazing especially given the source material, and the hack definitely knows how to pull off a Silent Hill-like feeling of fear. Absolutely insane for something running on a 16-bit console from the early 1990s, and a freaking Mario game of all things! I'm honestly kind of surprised the SMW scene is still as big and active as it is all these years later. It looks like I've got some more use in the future for my RetroPie to go back and see what I've been missing all these years.

If I'm honest, I believed that "the sister" was Mario's relative. I do not know why.

I really expected GIYGAS to be the final boss, the final ending was gonna be it xd So many Mother 2 references. Not that it's bad, Mother 2 is awesome

I played this ending in the 2.0 version, and here's what I know from that: 1. The max amount of genocided Toads is reduced to 10. 2. Toad Town takes on a reddish-indigo tint during the actual massacre, and Mario Forever's "Apoplexy Tanks" is replaced with Chrono Trigger's "Lavos Stirs" used in Mario's Mystery Meat. 3. Toad himself returns to the aftermath, set to Sonic.exe's "Hill Act 1." When he gets to his own house (accessible by vine), he finds, among the corpses, an etch of the Shopkeeper's grin. 4. Returning outside, Toad comes face to face with the Shopkeeper and Face-Possessed Mario. We hear a distorted version of Super Mario 64's "It's-a me, Mario." before the BAD ENDING screen, which still uses the very-out-of-place Toad Town theme from M&L:BIS.

Finally, a good ending. I watched a walkthrough that only gave five endings, and I was unsatisfied with the good endings (demon "defeated", demon pacified), so seeing an ending where your actions actively defeat AND pacify the evil forces taking over Iggy's castle was very appreciated. Love this ROM hack, even though I'll never play it cuz im too easily spooked 😅, but I just might, in search of endings and secrets!

Honestly love this hack so much, such a simple idea presented so well and it even looks fun to play for those who want a good challenge!

This should be considered the neutral ending tbh, the evil in the castle still lives but it's under your control now

the shopkeepers definitely embodies the sin of greed. Heck, in Ending #12, the final boss (and the room before it) have a pay-to-play setup.

amazing romhack, my only issue is how you overuse the major boss confrontation from metroid theme for your bosses. thats it though!

I've been following you since Wakana Land first came out and I'm always amazed at the hacks you put out. The level of polish and detail and just overall dedication to them really makes them stand out and I'm really just impressed by how far things have come in the past 10 years or so. Sometimes it's hard to even believe this is using SMW's engine and isn't a completely different game altogether. Great job!
